No online shop in Germany may sell THC gummy bears with an intoxicating amount of THC. For this reason, this category contains aroma gummies with hemp seed oil, with a very low THC share or with other cannabinoids. The items are declared as aroma and collector products and are not intended for consumption. What exactly they contain is stated on every product page.
What are THC gummy bears?
When people say THC gummy bears, most of them mean fruit gummies that contain cannabis extract with delta-9-THC. In countries such as Canada or parts of the USA, they are sold legally as edibles. In Germany, this is not permitted.
What you will find here looks like a gummy bear but has a different purpose. The manufacturers offer the gummies as scent and collector items, often with hemp seed oil and the typical hemp aroma. According to the manufacturer, some packs from the Tyson 2.0 brand are free from psychoactive substances.
Which gummies you will find here
The range changes, and not every flavour is always in stock. The table shows the lines carried in this category, with the information from the product pages. They differ mainly in pack size, composition and declaration. What they all have in common: they are not food, and no flavour promises any effect.
| Line | Pack | Information according to product page | Flavours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tyson 2.0 Mike's Bites | 12 pieces | aroma gummies, collector and aroma product | Original, Watermelon KO, Blackberry Lychee OG, Mango Chili Punch |
| THC Aroma Gummies | 5 pieces | THC below 0.2 %, decorative and collector item | Cherry, Strawberry, Raspberry, Orange, Mango, Blueberry, Green Apple |
| Euphoria Aroma Gummies | 50 g | with 3 % hemp seed oil, vegan, not a food | Apfel OG, Strawberry Haze |
You will find more items from Euphoria in the Euphoria category. There is also the Tyson 2.0 chewing gum with activated charcoal.
Are THC gummy bears legal in Germany?
Since 1 April 2024, cannabis with THC has been covered by the German Consumer Cannabis Act (KCanG). It allows possession, home growing and cultivation associations. It does not provide for the sale of THC edibles through online shops. Medical cannabis is regulated by the German Medical Cannabis Act (MedCanG), so THC gummy bears from a pharmacy are only available with a doctor's prescription.
Gummies with cannabinoids produced in a laboratory have no specific permission. The legislator can add such substances to the German New Psychoactive Substances Act (NpSG) at any time. This happened with HHC on 27 June 2024, and trading HHC gummies has been prohibited since then. Nobody can promise that another substance will remain permitted.
Effects and dosage: what you should know
Because the gummies in this category are not intended for consumption, we give no information on effects or dosage. This also applies to frequently searched strengths such as 600 mg or 1000 mg. Packs like these usually come from abroad or are imitations of well-known confectionery brands. Selling them is not permitted in Germany, and nobody checks whether the information on the bag is correct.
The only thing that is generally known: cannabinoids taken through the stomach act with a delay, because they are first processed by the liver. This often leads people to take more too early.
What to look for when you buy THC gummy bears
- Declaration: Does the pack state whether the product is a food or not? Aroma gummies are not a food.
- Ingredients: Reputable sellers name the composition, for example glucose syrup, sugar, pectin and hemp seed oil.
- THC information: Look for a percentage such as "below 0.2 %" rather than large milligram figures without proof.
- Age limit: All items are only available from the age of 18.
- No health claims: Stay away from sellers who promise sleep, freedom from pain or healing.
Making THC gummy bears yourself?
There are many recipes online. Anyone who makes gummy bears with THC at home needs cannabis with THC, and what is permitted here is closely regulated by the KCanG. We advise against it. At home, the amount per piece can hardly be distributed evenly, and the risk of confusing them with normal sweets is high, especially in households with children.
Storage and safety
Aroma gummies look like normal sweets. For this reason, store them out of reach of children and pets, ideally in the original packaging. Kept cool, dry and away from light, their colour and scent last the longest. After contact with psychoactive substances, do not drive and do not operate machinery.
