What is kratom?

Kratom is the name for the dried leaves of the kratom tree (Mitragyna speciosa). The tree belongs to the coffee family (Rubiaceae), grows in Southeast Asia and reaches up to 25 metres in height. In countries such as Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, the leaves have a long tradition. They contain alkaloids, mainly mitragynine and small amounts of 7-hydroxymitragynine. In retail, kratom is usually offered as a finely ground powder, as it is in our shop.

Kratom strains: red, green, white and gold

The colour refers to the leaf veins and the time of harvest. According to the manufacturer, red kratom such as Red Dragon is harvested at an overripe stage. Super Green comes from younger leaves, Super White from mature leaves of older trees. Names such as Bali, Borneo or Maeng Da are trade names and do not always indicate the exact origin. For White Bali and White Borneo, the manufacturer names West Kalimantan in Indonesia.

According to the manufacturer, Maeng Da, together with Bali and Borneo, is one of the three basic types in the kratom trade. This is why you will find Maeng Da in all four colours in our shop. If you want to compare strains, the best way to start is with the same basic type in two colours, for example Green Borneo and White Borneo. Kratom powder: form, pack sizes and storage

All strains are finely ground. Most are available in 5 g, 10 g and 25 g, and White Maeng Da in 5 g and 10 g. According to the product page, the powder is subject to natural weight loss, so small deviations in weight are normal.

• Store in a cool, dry place away from light.
• Close the pack tightly again after opening.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

What to look for when you buy kratom

• Choose the strain and colour deliberately. The trade names alone say little about the origin.
• Choose the pack size to suit the purpose, for example 5 g for a first collection.
• Look for clear information: strain, form, notes on use and age limit.
• Pay attention to the intended use. Reputable offers state clearly that kratom powder is not a food.
• Check the legal situation in the destination country before you order.

Is kratom legal in Germany?

Kratom and its main alkaloid mitragynine are not currently listed in the annexes of the German Narcotics Act. This does not mean that kratom may be sold freely as a recreational product. Kratom is not an approved medicinal product, and we offer it neither as a food nor as a food supplement. For this reason, we sell it exclusively as plant material for collector, scent and research purposes. In several European countries, kratom is prohibited or restricted. The legal situation can change, and there is no guarantee for the future. Check the current situation, especially if you order to another country.

Kratom and health: what you should know

We make no health or effect claims about kratom. The research is limited, and user reports cannot be generalised. Specialist bodies point out risks, including a potential for dependence and possible interactions with medication. For questions about health or current medication, a doctor is the right person to ask, not an online shop. Because our kratom is not intended for consumption, we give no dosage information.
