C4 Strain
What is C4?
C4 is a potent hybrid strain that came about by crossing two well-known cannabis lines. This strain is known above all for its strong effect and its impressive genetic stability. It combines the best properties of indica and sativa, which makes it a versatile choice for different consumption preferences. C4 is suitable for both recreational and medical use and has made a name for itself thanks to its stability and its yields.

THC & CBD levels
C4 is known for its high THC content, which normally lies between 20% and 25%. This high THC share creates a powerful, euphoric effect that stimulates the mind and relaxes the body at the same time. The CBD value stays relatively low, typically under 1%, which means that the calming effects come mainly from the THC. That makes C4 a preferred choice for users who are looking for a strong psychoactive effect. If you want to measure the THC content of your own plants precisely, you will find a practical analysis tool for determining THC here.

With a moderate THC content it offers a pleasant euphoria that promotes creativity and focus without becoming overwhelming. The aromas are fruity and sweet, with a discreet citrus note that rounds off the experience. Step-by-step growing guide for the C4 strain
Step 1: choosing the right growing location
- Indoors: Make sure you have enough space for your plants (ideally at least 1m² per plant). Use a grow box, to create a controlled environment that matches the optimal growing conditions.
- Outdoors: Choose a sunny spot that gets at least 6-8 hours of sunlight per day. The soil should be well aerated and slightly acidic to neutral.
Step 2: germinating the seeds
- Water glass method: Place the seeds in a glass of water and let them soak for 12-24 hours until they swell.
- Seedling method: Put the swollen seeds into moist soil (a mix of peat and perlite is ideal) and cover them lightly. Keep the soil moist, but not wet. At 22-25°C the seeds should germinate after 2-7 days.
Step 3: vegetative phase (growth phase)
- Lighting: Make sure the plants get 18 hours of light per day (during the growth phase). Use high-quality light, for example LED or HPS lamps.
- Temperature and humidity: Keep the temperature at 20-26°C and the humidity at 50-60%. Humidity that is too high can encourage mould.
- Watering: Water regularly, but avoid waterlogging. The top layer of soil should dry slightly between waterings.
Step 4: vegetative phase - care
- Pruning and training: Remove the lower, weak branches to promote the growth of the upper, stronger branches. If needed, use techniques such as LST (Low Stress Training), to bring the plant into the desired shape and distribute the light evenly.
- Fertilising: Use a balanced fertiliser (NPK 3-1-2 or 2-1-2) during growth. Make sure you increase the amount of fertiliser gradually to avoid over-fertilising.
Step 5: flowering phase
- Change the light cycle: As soon as the plants are big enough, switch to a 12/12 light cycle (12 hours of light, 12 hours of darkness) to encourage flowering.
- Temperature and humidity: Lower the humidity to 40-50% and the temperature to 18-22°C, to avoid mould.
- Flowering fertiliser: During flowering you should switch to a phosphorus-rich fertiliser (for example NPK 1-3-2), to encourage flower production.
Step 6: care during flowering
- Further pruning: Keep removing all dead or shaded leaves that block the light, so the flowers get optimal light.
- Monitoring the plants: Watch out for pests and diseases. Make sure no mould forms by checking the air circulation regularly.
Step 7: preparing for the harvest
- Determining the harvest time: The flowering time of the C4 strain is about 8-9 weeks. Make sure the trichomes (resin glands) are milky white to amber, to achieve the best THC content.
- Cutting: When the plant is ready, cut off the main shoots and hang them up to dry in a cool, well-ventilated place.
Step 8: harvest and drying
- Drying: Let the plants dry for 7-14 days in a dark room with 50% humidity and a temperature of about 18-22°C. Make sure the branches snap easily once they are completely dry.
- Curing: Once the flowers are dry, store them in jars and let them cure for 2-4 weeks, to optimise the taste and the potency.
Additional tips:
- Cuttings: If you want to use cuttings, you will find a selection of cannabis cuttings, which can help you choose the best genetics for your grow.
- Monitor the plants regularly: Especially during the flowering phase it is important to spot and treat mould and pests early.
- Air circulation: Pay attention to good ventilation, to avoid mould and support growth.
With this step-by-step guide and the right grow boxes as well as cuttings you can grow the C4 strain successfully and achieve a healthy harvest with a good yield.
